I've just got hold of an old dell laptop, I want to change the os?

simple enough. But the cd drive is locked by a password authentification system so can't be used.

Any ideas how I can get round this? Disconnect the CMOS maybe? Its a CPi 300I've just got hold of an old dell laptop, I want to change the os?
you need to boot from a floppy and then run the setup program on the CD-ROM.

It can be any DOS boot disk - probably Win 95 would be the best, since XP and 2000 use 4 disks to boot.I've just got hold of an old dell laptop, I want to change the os?
why spend money on a laptop when you can get it for free? just go to this site and complete a few quick tasks and they'll send you a sony vaio laptop at no charge!
