Thats impossible. first you take all the backups without fail than you go for the formatting.

That's impossible. Formatting a drive by definition gets rid of everything. The way the hard drive works is that it has a list of files on it. When you reformat a hard drive, you just get rid of the entire list. It doesn't individually delete every file, it just throws everything out.
you cant, when you format the drive it will wipe all the programs that are on that drive. so if they are on another drive then you should be good... make sure you do a back up before you try anything though.
