Can I change my OS to Vista?

I am running a microsoft windows XP professional Service Pack 2, Intel Pentium D, CPU 2.80 GHz, 128 MB of RAM. Can I upgrade to Windows Vista? and can I change my OS even if theres a virus named WLCtrl32.dll i my present OS? And how?Can I change my OS to Vista?
Get rid of that virus and get yourself anouther ton of ram because the 128 mb of ram is'nt enough to make the computer screen blink. Can I change my OS to Vista?
No, you need more RAM. Vista is very resource hungry - you'll need at least 1 GB to run Vista even semi-well.

Run this:

To check everything else.

Then when you're OK, purchase a Vista Licence:

and install!
No, your computer will have a massive heart attack if you install vista on that thing. Keep xp, there's no reason to switch to Visita at this point.
you need more RAM, at least 512 to work and 1 GB ... to move better....
remember that at your currentt OS, you have the minimum requirement for it. XP usually recommends at around 512 mb. VISTA on the other hand requires a dual core processor and at least 1 gb of memory to run.
The answer is NO. Basically you needed a 500Mb of RAM or 1Gb of RAM as recommended so that you can run the Vista smoothly on your PC.

It is better if you can just upgrade your RAM to the minimum or recommended specification of RAM for Vista.

If you want to get rid of the virus only just search the virus name in Yahoo or Google. Usually there will be some forums on how to get rid of your virus.
You've got a fairly good system there with the exception of that virus.

Changing to Vista would require formatting your hard drive and that procedure would eliminate the virus. But then again, so would reinstalling your Windows XP and formatting the hard drive.

Vista would cost you a couple of hundred dollars or more for a license so why not buy extra RAM for your system and have that XP PRO SP2 scream!

Sarge
No, your computer just isn't strong enough.

You should also really get rid of that virus... If your anti-virus software can't do for you, then you should think about reformatting and reinstalling your OS.

Follow this guide to reformat:

WARNING! You will lose all data are you harddrive that is not backed-up to another location.
you gotta need more ram for that. But you can give a look of vista by downloading vista transformation pack which completely transforms your xp to vista(visually) .You can download it from here
