Edit the file /boot/grub/menu.lst. Each operating system will be described in a section starting with a title statement. Move the title section of whichever OS you want to be the default OS to the first position in the list.

To change the menu settings of boot you need to do the changes in the boot loader configuration. Diffrent linux flavours have different configuration utility.

If you are using suse linux, then try the control panel offered by suse and try to changes the settings of menu options.
If u want to edit in Linux Edit the file /boot/grub/menu.list

I Xp u can edit in msconfig Window
Right click on the my computer in windows XP and click properties then click to advance tab and then start up and recovery and change your default OS.
