i have this brand new laptop a DELL Inspiron 1420 with a genuine vista home basic OS,,,,, i tied to reformat it and install Win XP SP2 OS but an error occurred. some kind of need to run a company setup disk,,,,,,, i had tried what it ask but still the same error occurred.......

you need a driver for SATA, DELL 1420 is using SATA Hard drive..
Try paragon partition manager.This tool will allow make some operations with your HDD(format,re size...etc)
