Go to ';Start %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; Control Panel %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; System';, Select the ';Advanced'; tab, Under the group ';Startup and Recovery'; click ';Settings';, then click ';Edit';

The ';C:\boot.ini'; file opens. There you have to change the entries;

boot.ini example,

[boot loader]

timeout=30

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partiti?br>
[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WI?Windows XP Professional'; /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn

where disk(0) means that it's the primary master disk and partition(1) means the first partition on that disk (usually primary active partition), where the Windows is installed.

Whatever, for more explanation visit the website, added to the source list.How to change the OS selection at boot start?
You can edit the boot.ini file to leave no time for the selection. Your boot.ini file is a hidden file in C:\ so open notepad and go to C:\ and type in boot.ini and it'll open it even though theres no icon for it.
search your system for boot.ini

delete the entry that points to the C: drive.

Save boot.ini and reboot.
With Care only..

Right click My computer

Go to Properties

Click Advance

Click on Startup and Recovery Settings

In default operating system -%26gt; Select the one you need

Remove the time to display 30 seconds thing

you will not be prompted for the the option next time and instead it will load the one you selected as default without user intervention.

you can undo it if you dont want by changing the same in the default operating systems..

Hope this helps

Hi Lenin,

Please follow these instrutions to resolve this problem,

To specify the default operating system for startup

1. Open System in Control Panel.

2. On the Advanced tab, under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.

3. Under System startup, in the Default operating system list, click the operating system you want to start when you turn on or restart your computer.

4. Select the Display list of operating systems for check box, and then type the number of seconds you want the list displayed before the default operating system starts automatically.

Note

?To open System, click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.

?To manually edit the boot options file, click Edit. Microsoft strongly recommends that you do not modify the boot options file (boot.ini). Doing so may render your computer unusable.

Hope this helps, Let me know if issue remains,

regards,

Raj
