How do you change os to windows on a hp net book?

This can be quite a lengthy process, you will need to purchase several items to enable you to do this too.

What you will need is:

A valid version of Windows XP on a bootable CD along with a valid CD key.

An external USB drive CD drive Or an external USB storage drive such as a kingston data traveller.

If you have a version of Windows XP and a USB CD Device then follow these instructions if you dont then follow the link below which is listed under ';Sources'; of this answer.

On your HP NetBook hit the relevant key to enter your BIOS on the very first boot screnn you see when turning your netbook on. This is usually F1, F2 or the Delete button on your keyboard.

Depending on the BIOS manufacturer find the option to choose your ';Boot Order'; or ';Boot Sequence';. You need to set Boot from USB as the first option, followed by CD as the second and Hard Drive as the third option.

Ensure to save your settings before leaving BIOS and reboot your netbook.

Attatch your USB CD Drive

Quickly eject the USB CD Drive and insert the Windows XP CD

Your netbook should see the CD and a prompt should appear on screen instructing you to press any key to boot from the CD. Hit any key.

Once in boot you will be guided through the Windows XP installation by Windows which is fairly easy to understand.

Please be aware that doing this will mean you loose all information on your laptop and will be starting from fresh. I strongly advise you create a back up so that if the Windows installation does not go as planned (i.e. because of driver issues) then you still have an operating system you can use.How do you change os to windows on a hp net book?
